Article I: The name of this organization shall be IL CIRCOLO ITALIANO
"INSIEME" DI F.A.U.
Article II: This student organization was created with the intention
of promoting the cause of Italian and creating and enhancing Italian cultural
awareness in the following ways:
- by meeting
weekly to discuss different aspects of Italian culture, as well
as current and past historical, political, literary events pertaining
to Italians and their culture in Italy an abroad;
- by organizing
Italian culture-related events.

Article III:
Membership in this organization shall be open to all FAU students and
other interested parties who share an interest in Italian language and
culture.
Article IV: Section 1 a) The officers of this organization shall
be: President: Vice-President: Secretary: Treasurer: Counselors (7): Section
1 b) All officers of this organization shall be registered FAU students
who meet the University's minimum requirements to serve as officers. These
are: a) all officers must be FAU students enrolled during this petition;
Section 1 c) All undergraduate officers must be enrolled for a minimum
of 6 (six) credit hours for the Fall term, 6 (six) credit hours for the
Spring term and 3 (three) credit hours for Summer "A" and Summer "B" terms
(or 3[three] credit hours for Summer "C" term); Section 1 d) All officers
must be in good academic standing, which is defined as having a 2.0 G.P.A.
on course work attempted at Florida Atlantic University. Section 2 In
order to be eligible for office, prospective candidates must be enrolled
in the Italian program (i.e. be enrolled in at least one course offered
within the Italian program and/or be registered as a minor or a major
in the Italian Program). Section 3 a) The officers shall be elected once
per academic year at the end of the Spring term (in the course of the
month of April on a date chosen in consultation with the entire board)
and take office in the beginning of the Fall term (in the course of the
month of September on a date established in consultation with the entire
board). Section 3 b) Members will nominate other members for office. The
nominated member can either accept or refuse the nomination. If nominee
accepts, that person's name shall be put on the ballot. Members will vote
by secret ballot. The organization advisor shall tabulate the votes and
announce the winners immediately after tabulation. The president shall
be voted in first. In case of a tie for the presidency, the elected officers
will vote and the loser shall become vice-president. Section 4) In the
event a vacancy occurs through resignation or an "act of God", new elections
will be held to fill the vacancy. Section 5) The duties of the officers
are as follows: President The President is the chief administrative officer
of the Association, with direct responsibility for the conduct of its
affairs during his/her term of office. He/she shall preside over all meetings.
Vice President: The Vice-President shall assist the President and shall
preside at meetings in the President's abscence. Secretary: The secretary
shall keep accurate record of all the meetings, and take care of all correspondence.
He/she shall work in close cooperation with the President and the Vice-President.
Treasurer: The treasurer shall at all times be informed about and keep
record of incoming funds and expenditures. The secretary shall report
on a regular basis on the membership and the finances of the organization.
He/she shall assist the above-mentioned officers in promoting the activities
of the club. Counselors: The counselors shall act in an advisory capacity.
They shall help the above-mentioned officers in promoting the goals of
the organization.
ARTICLE V: Section 1 Regular meetings shall be held on Tuesdays
at 8.00 p.m. at a place to be announced in the course of the week prior
to the meeting. Section 2 Special meetings shall be called whenever needed.
Section 3 A quorum for any regular or special meeting shall consist of
5 officers, including the president and/or the vice-president.
ARTICLE VI: This constitution may be amended at any time and with
majority approval of those members, including the officers and organization
advisor, present during the meeting called for the specific purpose of
amending the constitution.
